  • October 20th – World of Horsemanship to be held at Crosby Stables in Middleburg, FL. A day of learning and fun to include mini clinics by local horse professionals, including a special performance by Ivory Pal as well as the Spanish Drill Team. Cost is $10 donation per car.   • October 27, 2007 - Horses Helping Hospice annual Charity Trail Ride at Rocking Horse Stables, Altoona.  To benefit Hospice of Lake and Sumter.   Must have $25 in pledges to ride.  Great prizes including Pat Parelli training, Arabian Knights tickets, trip to the Kentucky Derby, saddle and bridle.  Lunch and entertainment to follow ride.  Come and camp for the weekend at Rocking Horse!!  For more info contact Sandy DiBona at sdibona@hospicels.com or call 352-742-6807. 
  • October 27 – Grand Opening of Hickory Hammock Equestrian Center located on U.S. Highway 98 in the Lorida community in Highlands County.  The South Florida Water Management District invites you to celebrate the grand opening with trail rides, foot hikes and swamp buggy rides, 9:30 am to 1:30 pm.   • November, 3, 2007 – 15th Annual Miracle Trail Ride to benefit Children's Miracle Network.  10 mile ride takes place at the Lower Wekiva River State Preserve.  Registration begins at 7:00 am and the ride starts at 9:00 am.  $50 Minimum donations required and includes the ride, breakfast provided by IHOP, lunch provided by Sonny’s Bar-B-Q and a souvenir Miracle Trail Ride t-shirt.  For more information call Cathy Droke at 407-481-2774 or visit www.gocmn.org.  Come out and help hospitals help kids!
  • November 3rd 2007 Alachua County 4-H open horse show at Canterbury showplace Newberry FL registration starts at 8:00am and the show starts at 9:00am we have a variety of classes English, western, trail, dressage for both youth and adult’s, 4-H members and non-4-H members with daily highpoints. You can check out our show bill at http://alachua.ifas.ufl.edu.  Our judge for this show will be Karen Iverson. 4-H is a non-profit organization for youth to learn and excel in programs of their choice.

  • January 18, 19, & 20 - Winery Ride-A-Thon to benefit Heartland Horses & Handicapped, Inc. A free
    assisted riding program for children and adults with special needs. Join us for a one of a kind weekend! Free camping all weekend (not many trees so plan accordingly). Lots of trails for riding on your own. Start the morning right with a pancake; strawberry; and sausage breakfast on Saturday. Then join us for a guided trail ride through the natural Florida landscape; followed by a wine and cheese social; dinner; prizes; auction; and live entertainment! This is a ride you won't want to miss! Reservations highly recommended. $75 minimum sponsorship for adults (21 and over). $50 minimum sponsorship for youth riders (under 21).
