About Us

Welcome to Tim Trott’s FLA HORSE web site!

We started this thing back in the 1990’s as Cybercute.com/flahorse when we began our web design and hosting company, and acquired the domain  FlaHorse.com in October of 1997. Hey, my name is Trott and my mother’s maiden name was Gallup. Why not?

We (Tim and Marianne Trott) were on a camp-out and ride with a group that is now the Florida Trail Blazers with our first two horses, Cotton and Cody, when some members of that group suggested it might be nice to have a “place on the Internet” to post their trail maps. Since I was already involved in doing things with a web server that a friend had set up, I decided to build a web site for the benefit of all Florida trail riders in Florida. The Trail Guide maps are gone now, and so are the classified ads along with the bulletin board forum (a victim of Facebook) but the original idea remains and we also kept the Trail Publications section. As times change, we continued to change as well, with a new beginning in 2019.

From the early days, we’ve been assisted and encouraged by many people in the Florida horse community and beyond. To the those who made that first suggestion at a camp out and to the many others who have contributed the news articles, information, assistance, photos and more, we would like to say a great big “thank you”.

We have had as many as five horses at one time. “Cotton” as he was known, my first and the last, was killed by lightning in June of 2005 near our home in Marianna. (See the full story at “TC and Me” on this site)

I sincerely hope you enjoy this web site that continues to be inspired by “TC”. This web site is dedicated to horses and horse people of Florida.
